Tracking ISIS Emir of believers, Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi

Out with the old.

For this report, FPM.news reached out to contacts asking for an interpretation of current Salafi-jihad movement events including the 26 October 2019 suicide of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi al-Qurayshi (a purported descendant of the Quraysh tribe of the prophet Muhammad a.k.a.: Ibrahim Awad Ibrahim al-Badri).

In with the “new”?

Baghdadi’s death led to the official appointment announcement of the already de facto Caliph since late 2016, that being Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurashi. He is probably ISIS long-timer al-Mawla, also known by ISIS name Hajji ‘Abdallah, purportedly another descendant of the Quraysh tribe of the prophet Muhammad. His full name at birth was Amir Muhammad Sa’id Abdal-Rahman al-Mawla.

The new Caliph is a ruthless mass-murderer and a plotter of hundreds of terrorist events around the world.

“The new Caliph is the man who worked with Sami Jasim Muhammad al-Jaburi and launched the campaign of slaughter or trafficking of the Yezidi people,” notes FPM.news‘s Behar Abbasi who worked in Iraq during the early days of ISIS. Da’esh had sprung from al Qaeda-in-Iraq which was headquartered in the North East of the country near the Iranian border hence the now-Caliph al-Hashimi would have known and reviled the Yezidi.

“The new ISIS Caliph is a ruthless mass-murderer and a plotter of hundreds of terrorist events around the world. He is worse than Baghdadi,” Abbasi added.

“It was all about genocide. Jaburi added a component of financial gain. al-Jaburi’s influence caused the abduction of thousands of Yezidi females later offered for sale, some of whom are still lost inside the global human slavery sector,” Abbasi said with some considerable disgust for the current rulers of ISIS.

Some people think al-Jaburi is still alive and is acting as a second-in-command (2IC) to al-Hashimi.

Life in an ISIS Caliphate

During an interview with humanitarian worker Monique Deslauriers, an American who like Behar Abbasi worked for a global civil society women’s group, FPM.news was told that the Islamic State followers were in their basic beliefs no different than the people of Saudi Arabia which America and Britain support with enormous sales of military weapons.

That could mean one of two things:

  1. Wahhabism could be perfectly innocent in the context of global values if two great countries support and arm the movement; or
  2. Britain and the United States are making a terrible, self-destructive mistake.

“When people like al-Hashimi, which is not his real name, join together also as advocates of Wahhabism, it becomes clear that Wahhabism is vile,” said Abbasi, a voice of experience.

Bengal is a geopolitical region in South Asia, specifically in the eastern part of the Indian subcontinent at the apex of the Bay of Bengal. The region spans part of Bangladesh and part of India. ISIS in Bengal is a grave concern to both countries.

Wahhabism explained in first hand accounts.

In Mosul, Iraq prior to the ISIS occupation of parts of the Kurdish Region including Mosul, a women’s medical NGO was training nurses in midwifery; teaching sexualy transmitted infection treatment including HIV/HBV; and providing nurses and doctors with trauma training for Gender Based Violence (GBV) cases.

The women also ran a warehouse and a resupply infrastructure for mobile clinics that were formed after Syria’s fixed base humanitarian infrastructure collapsed in chaos in 2012.

Nurse Monique Deslauriers was among the women’s group who remained in Mosul, Iraq even after 6-14 June 2014 when the Islamic State invaded the city and occupied it until the spring of 2017.

“At first the ISIS occupiers of Mosul were very nice to everyone. They were strict Wahhabis who practice a form of Islam that is very strident in its interpretation of the Q’ran,” she explained. But they literally hate people of other faiths, especially those not rooted in Mesopotamia, and in many cases they hate even Muslims who are not of the same extreme beliefs. They especially dislike Shiite Muslims but ordinary non-observing Muslims are seen as either useful or disposable by the ISIS Wahhabis.

“Look at the Catholic bible,” added Monique. “It condoned at one time, war, human and animal  sacrifice, killing, rape, and capital punishment including beheading and hanging plus even crucifixion. Catholics generally don’t do those things but there is a sect among Catholics that believes they should be allowed or at least be forgiven doing murder, rape, and capital punishment of persons not of their faith,” she added.

“Like the Catholics burning down clinics and killing doctors who do abortions,” she said.

“Where those things occur in the writings of the Q’ran, the strict Wahhabis, a sect of Islam, willfully commit those crimes randomly and within their jurisprudence,” Monique continued. “Even in Saudi Arabia,” she added, “that conduct, except for public beheadings, is swept under the table from public view, especially in the prisons.”

“Those brutal things happen every day in Saudi Arabia, you just don’t hear about it as much as when ISIS does that. But for the Da’esh, those terrible things happen to so-called non-believers every hour.”

“ISIS attracted members and fighters by promising a family-oriented, family-support plan that encouraged marriage of up to four wives and plenty of children. To do that, midwives were crucial to their support infrastructure because under Shariah Law which is the code of order of ISIS Wahhabism, only a woman medical practitioner can see or touch a woman down there.”

A Women’s Rights Defender in Da’esh territory?

That’s nothing new. In Saudi Arabia today and for decades the Saudi prisons are chock-full with women who are human rights defenders. They are being beaten and raped with regularity. Meanwhile brave women are continually organizing protests and acts of public disobedience in order to promote change toward human development and gender equality.

In the case of ISIS, working documents suggest a more rigid interpretation of women’s rights.

In the last of the Surat al-Tahrim related from God the Almighty, in which is given examples of the two believers Asia and Mariam, two ideal women, the two qualities most celebrated were religion and chastity: “And  Mariam, the daughter of ‘Imran, who guarded her chastity, so We blew into through Our Angel, and she believed in the words of her Lord and His scriptures and was of the devoutly obedient”

(Quran 66:12).

“My group’s work included training midwives to build relationships with civilian patients and to support women in their safety and security, aimed to stop unwanted rape/incest-pregnancies.”

“We fought against the spread of morbid sexually transmitted diseases via rape and incest. There is a huge STD problem in Middle East communities,” Monique added.

In Iraq, Iran and Syria some 7% of the population are infected with morbid Hepatitis B (HBV). Terrorist mentality toward rape and incest is the cause of such a high number the RINJ Women say on their web site. Other morbid diseases are also spreading.  The World Health Organization concurs.

Rape as a form of Genocide was popular with ISIS Leadership especially al-Hashimi

“Rape was promoted among these animals,” said Monique as she described many of the problems living under ISIS rule.

“It was a way of sexual permissiveness that attracted young deviant males to life as a warrior of the believers, she added.

“The Da’esh fighters were allowed by a Fatwa decree of Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi to have a one-day temporary marriage to any girl above 9.

Treating those children who became pregnant was a nightmare.

Keeping 7 and 8 year old children hidden was a big job because the Da’esh fighters chased after them in playgrounds  or on their way to school. For most districts, school had to end.”

“Our group complained bitterly to Emirs and commanders of Da’esh about this and even threatened to strike by not doing obstetrics and refusing to deliver their women’s babies. This was work they did not want done in the hospitals which they intended to use solely for recovering soldiers.”

Pictorial: ISIS in West Africa

FPM.news did not do so well in nailing down the location of these photographs. West Africa is comprised of Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo. There are several locations where these pictures may have been taken. Note the small number of participants in the face-masking photo shoot.

“They beat us to near death, at times.”

“The group I belong to, RINJ,” said Monique, “has a section in the organization that prosecutes rapists even if the case is incest. They do this by first treating the survivor if there is one (because many cases are rape/slay), gathering evidence, creating proper court filing documents, and protecting the victim/witness.”

“Then,’ she continued, “they find a prosecutor who would like to win a case and get behind that person. They use glory and career advancement as motivators to get prosecutors to act. If that doesn’t work, they file a private criminal complaint and hire the best lawyers with the best connections to maintain carriage of the case file.”

“In the case of ISIS in Mosul and Tal Afar, we would go to a judge to complain about things that were frowned upon in Da’esh interpretation of Shariah law. We would argue as if we were allies of the Al-Khanssaa Brigade women that an Emir or fighter had more than four wives or that they were violating the 9-year-old rule and that they child was only 7 or 8.

FPMag sources refer to this as the Nine-Year-Old Temporary Marriage Fatwa of ISIS

“This tactic would be effective where we found Shariah judges whose women we were providing care for. But generally speaking, in the case of child rapists, we gave all the information to our security team which then assassinated the Da’esh rapist.

“The fact that we were rat-finking [tattling] many Da’esh to the judges caused them not to suspect us as being the killers of the rapists who made 8-year-olds pregnant. The called us “the socialist nurses from the Medical College. They mostly beat us but once in a while one of us would be killed,” she added with a long face and a quiet sob.

ISIS is very strong in the Philippines

The best turnout for the photo shoot requested by Abu Hamza came from the Philippines which mustered 35 members in Mindanao to take some photographs. ISIS identified these pictures as being from East Asia which is comprised of China, Hong Kong, Macau, Japan, Mongolia, North Korea, South Korea and Taiwan.

FPM.news‘s Sharon Santiago in the Philippines looked over the photographs and spotted three indigenous items: the germelina trees, the shaddock trees and plastic water bottles on the ground. The water bottles are labeled “Absolute” which label is bottled and distributed locally in the Philippines. Finally, FPM.news art department identified three persons or more from other photographs, as being Filipino men and women.

What ISIS is describing in its propaganda images as ‘East Asia’ is actually the Philippines (Asia Pacific Region).

FPM.news‘s Sharon Santiago in the Philippines looked over the photographs and spotted three indigenous items: the germelina trees, the shaddock trees and plastic water bottles on the ground. What ISIS is describing in its propaganda images as ‘East Asia’ is actually the Philippines (Asia Pacific Region or ASEAN ).

The Smallest Response to Abu Hamza’s request for propaganda material came from Syria Where ISIS is languishing in horrible prison camps or working with ISIS in Afghanistan rebuilding a covert jihad against Russia.

Some Conclusions

The breakup of the ISIS Caliphate was too much too late. Dozens of major cities are destroyed and millions of civilians have been displaced or even killed.

Today the Islamic State is a more dangerous thing than ever before. Nearly invisible, the doctrinal supporters of Da’esh are everywhere with some notable hot spots.

“Recently The RINJ Foundation received angry communication from the Kremlin demanding that it remove internet historical documents published by ISIS in its academic library,” says Monique Deslaurier.

“We removed access from Russia to the library and removed repositories where we could not control the access but the point is that the Kremlin is terrified of future attacks by the Islamic State,” she added. (A full set of ISIS public documents can be found by students and researchers here from most of the world but they are under heavy attack so this may change.)

The Philippines has gained popularity with escaping ISIS fighters with enough money to buy a cheap plane ticket. They congregate in Mindanao but also have targeted other areas for settlement.

Mid-year FPM.news encountered an ISIS group in the Philippines that had been under observation by some of Monique’s colleagues. One among them had been alleged as an offender.

FPM.news seized an opportunity med-2019 for an impromptu interview of a group of ISIS members and supporters who were allegedly training at a University on Luzon Island. The group was comprised of two Yemeni, a Syrian, two Saudi and an Iraqi. Others were not identified and refused to speak. Two were experienced fighters in Iraq and one was an experienced fighter in Yemen. Not much more than that was learned from the alleged students. The RINJ Women had gathered their own information but were not sharing. What was notable was that these jihadists were far from the beaten track of Islamic extremists in the Philippines.
