Angela Merkel leading Free World in COVID-19 war?

“A million women want Tsai Ing-wen, Moon Jae-in, and Angela Merkel, with António Guterres to lead humanity against COVID-19,” says a civil society women’s group in a letter to the United Nations.

“The virus has arrived in Europe, it’s there, we must all understand that,” said  Chancellor Angela Merkel to the world, on Wednesday.

On 11 March, a trusted world leader stepped up. Angela Merkel talked to the world about imposing controls on the spread of the COVID-19 in order to buy some time as scientists work on developing a pharmacological response to the SARS-CoV-2 virus. She also explained a strategy for not  overstressing health care systems.

Picking a global leadership team.

FPM.news writers sat around with some doctors and nurses discussing the RINJ group’s suggestions on who might lead the world in its current COVID-19 crisis.

The candidates are Tsai Ing-wen, Taiwan’s amazing President, Moon Jae-in, the extraordinary leader of South Korea, and Angela Merkel, Germany’s Chancellor. These leaders clearly hold the keys to solving the world’s COVID-19 crisis.

“They each are excellent leaders; effective resource managers of their nation’s assets (their communities); and above all, they are universally trusted because they  are trustworthy,” says RINJ director, Katie Alsop.

Alsop suggested that the UN Secretary General be asked by her organization to convene a quick meetup and the four parties simply accept the appointments as global COVID-19 leadership team. and set out the resources they will need.

“The UN Secretary-General has the authority to do this,” says Ms. Alsop.

Angela Merkel wants persons who test positive for COVID-19 illness to simply stay home unless they need help. Millions will not need any help at all, say the experts.

“That basically means that if you have sneezed, stay home,” says Nurse Practitioner Michele Francis.

“Drink plenty of fluids, get plenty of rest and develop enhanced hygiene habits, she added. “Washing hands properly for 20 seconds at least with soap and water should follow and precede handling anything,” the nurse practitioner added. “Before going to the next thing, scrub-up.”

“Donald Trump has been angry with Europe since the Paris Climate Agreement and the Iran Nuclear Deal [JCPOA]. Today Trump got his licks in by banning trade and travel with Europe. He excused Britain because Boris Johnson is a Trump supporter. The world is in a state of chaos but should actually ignore the man in the White House,”  says the doctor FPM.news interviewed for this article.

Donald Trump, besides his confusion and very bad judgement has imposed a new challenge to Americans, think some observers.

“If America wants to solve the COVID-19 outbreak, that will require America to get Trump out of the White House,” says Dr. Anderson of The RINJ Foundation.

“To keep infected persons from visiting our shores, we will be suspending all travel from Europe for the next thirty days,” says Trump. But the country already has a raging epidemic. It is more likely that Europeans should fear going to America which has much bigger problems.

But Dr. Tedros has said this action is contraindicated.

World Health Organization chief Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has repeatedly warned that widespread travel bans are not needed to stop the spread of COVID-19 illness. He did however urge countries to ramp up their efforts to do testing and control of the virus.

In Trump’s case, the ‘man in the White House’ did the “don’ts” and failed on the “to do” list.

Still, doctors in the United States are saying they cannot get the simple tests needed to check if a patient has been infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus.

“Anything coming from Europe to the United States is what we are talking about,” says Trump as he locked out Americans and Europeans who would otherwise travel to America’s shores from Europe.

“Trump is not only a moron he is a catalyst of disaster,” says Dr. Anderson.

Here’s the paradox in Trump’s go-it-alone isolation theory,

WHO chief Dr. Tedros has been correct all along in suggesting ‘widespread travel bans are contraindicated’. Why?

Italy, for example, banned all travel back and forth to China. It made no difference. The country is suffering a horrible outbreak regardless. That is true of America.

“The United States is in big trouble and may be facing millions of infectionsa couple hundred million infections over the next 10 months,” notes Anderson.

COVID-19 Is all over the world. WHO calls it a ‘Pandemic’

“Researchers tracking the illness,” reports Sharon Santiago who supervises a shift of COVID-19 tracking, “have 125 nations reporting COVID-19 cases but researchers also know from the same sources that almost all other countries likely have cases. For example a patient in Guyana died from the virus in a Guyana hospital but officials say because the person is not a citizen, the case doesn’t count.”

“We counted this very sad case,” she added. “The family will see we do nothing different from one sad outcome to the next. Every number has a face, to our way of thinking.”

“There are many stories like that, says Santiago. “Many countries do not know, but patients report they have left behind the people they caught the infection from.  Countries with weaker health care systems have populations that wouldn’t bother trying to find a doctor.”

Dr. Tedros had a formula.

Dr. Tedros urged national governments to act  fast but expressed concern that nobody took him seriously save a few.

  • Early mass testing of as many persons as possible.
  • Isolating infected persons at home and tracking down those they have contacted to order their isolation.
  • Stop all mass gatherings and hence end the spread.
  • Deny the virus any and all hosts through public information and education.

“Having failed this,” says Dr. Anderson,” the United States has a big problem. It should be testing 5,000 persons an hour based on the best models, and putting the positives into quarantine.”

“The same can be applied to Canada but at 10% of the numbers,” the doctor added.

“The infections are spreading in the United States and Canada and will continue to spread.”

“Most North Americans will not know what has hit them.  The testing is inadequate.”
