Russia-DPRK defence agreement signed: Unconditional Support



A gob-smacking alliance was reached today between the two most sanctioned nations on Earth. DPRK and Russia sign a comprehensive mutual defence treaty and much more.

“We are bound by strong friendship and close good neighborliness. Interaction between us is based on the principles of equality and mutual respect between our countries’ interests of each other,” said Russian President Vladimir Putin in a greeting speech as serious talks began.

Far beyond “good neighborliness”, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea DPRK has emerged in a new and elevated status as a significant mutual partner with a nuclear superpower.

The statement from the Kremlin briefly sets out a set of comprehensive mutual defence agreements and other trade and science collaborations including infrastructure building at the border between the DPRK and Russia.

“Following the consultations, Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-un signed the Treaty on the Comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. In addition, during the visit to the DPRK, intergovernmental agreements were signed on the construction of a border road bridge and on cooperation in the field of healthcare, medical education and science.” Kremlin statement.
