The Israeli attack on Iranian diplomatic quarters and a consular office was coordinated between ISIS in Idlib governorate, Israel in Washington DC, the Pentagon and the U.S. State department. The attack was against the planners of recent attacks on American facilities in Syria and in Iraq.

This 1 April 2024, Damascus Iranian Embassy assassination attempt was on as many as 12 officials, a small number of whom have been hospitalized with seven or more dead including three senior officers of the Iranian Quds Force.
The death of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) commander for Lebanon and Syria, General Mohammad Reza Zahedi, is the most significant blow dealt to Iran’s IRGC since the 3 January 2020 USA-murder of Qassem Soleimani.
At that time in 2020, ten other persons from Iraq and Iran traveling in passenger trucks near the Baghdad Airport were slaughtered with missiles fired from an American drone causing the president of Iraq to order the Americans out of Iraq, which America refused to do.
In the case of the 1 April 2024 attack, F-35s in Israeli livery were guided to their target by American support and a bombing attack brought somewhere near 35 casualties including women and small children, some with minor injuries from debris, others more serious, as they were walking along the street during the late-afternoon busy hours of what otherwise would have been a nice, sunny spring day for them.
It was around 29 degrees C and a light wind blew from the north as folks coming from the university and from shopping walking past the Damascus University Faculty of Medicine and the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Fayez Mansour, Damascus, Syria. What were they thinking as they headed home with fresh baked bread and some other food for supper. The kids will be hungry after a day of school and outdoors play.

The attack was in the planning since last December according to DC sources who usually hit the nail on the head but wish not to be identified. It was not known where the target would be since the target IRGC leader travelled extensively. He is believed to have been planning an offensive against two American bases in Syria, one in the north of the Deir Ezzor governorate and another near the Iraqi, Jordanian, Syrian borders which bases were all present for the purpose of stealing Syrian oil in huge daily quantities for the past five years or more.
Eventually an insider provided the whereabouts of the Brigadier-General and the USA satellites and high and low altitude manned and unmanned surveillance got to work and stayed on the trail. Intense tracking began in February then off and on through March say the DC sources.
“This was too good an opportunity to ignore. Letting Israel do the hit was the best gift we could get from this otherwise, Middle East disaster.”
Finally, the golden opportunity presented itself with a score of major brass and middle management meeting in Damascus. This was during the “quiet period” since “America bombed anything Iranian that they could see”.
The golden opportunity attack was made against a building adjacent to the main Iranian Embassy building in Damascus on 1 April and it killed the top leadership of the IRGC and several crucial Hezbollah and Palestinian Islamic Jihad planners and decision makers.
The snitch was an American asset, member of a branch of al Qaeda and friend of many quasi-ISIL families in northern Idlib close to Alepp0, all of whom had rejected the extreme Wahhabism and pursued a more independent fragment of the Jihadist groups that resided somewhat isolated in Syria and other countries of the Middle East.
What is clear in conversations is that the one thing these fractured Sunni Jihadist elements have in common is a deep dislike for the Iranian invaders of Syria. Iran almost completely controls Syria which has left the country in chaos, said one among several who agreed.
“Some of these people make their living by supplying information to the Americans,” according to them and their American benefactors in Deir Ezzor, said one fellow who may be relaying his conjecture or some truth without saying what the evidence of compensation might be.

Reports suggest 7 dead but our sources in Damascus say maybe a dozen were killed. Several senior bureaucracy doctors promoted since we knew them from ar Raqqah experience a decade ago, confirmed the numbers as close but days ahead will tell.
General Zagedi was said to have been close to Qassem Soleimani in his long career, since he was 19, in the IRGC. Zagedi is regarded as a straight edge, a hard working military man with a penchant for family. The consensus among peers is that he was no zealot but ‘a nice guy’.
The IRGC in a statement published in Iran announced the deaths of seven members, including Mohammad Reza Zahedi, and his deputy Mohammad Haj Rahimi.
A long-time target of Washington and Tel Aviv, now West Jerusalem, Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi was killed along with his elite Quds Force 2IC Mohammad Hadi Hajriahimi, in an American assisted Israeli attack that destroyed the Iranian consulate in Damascus, Syria.
A month ago, IRGC member Reza Zarei was killed in a suspected Israeli attack in the port city of Baniyas.
Iranian state media officially announced last December the death by Israeli air attack of Seyed Razi Mousavi, a prominent figure associated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guards in Syria.
Iran says each of these events was supported by the United States.
The two referenced deceased were accredited as staff members of the embassy and were essentially based there although they traveled plenty. The bombing raises questions about the international norms protecting diplomatic personnel and premises. Is that over? Is Embassy Row a bombing target for Israel and America? The destroyed building in Damscus, is next door in the embassy compond to the primary embassy and just around the corner from the Damascus University Faculty of Medicine. The totally destroyed building is officially labelled as a consulate that also housed the ambassador’s residence. Israeli sources have indicated that the site was bombed as members of the IRGC’s expeditionary Quds Force were meeting with Palestinian Islamic Jihad (PIJ) members. This has not been confirmed but the days ahead will reveal the truth as the doctors there have said.
